Creating a font based on vintage Leica camera engraving

I've always had a love for design and photography. Vintage Leica cameras after 1984 up until today feature LG 1050,
an engraved proprietary font. It is not available to the public. Never having created a font before, I took on the challenge of recreating my own version of it from scratch, and adapting it for digital graphics use.

I used Adobe Illustrator and FontLab to create a structural grid that will be template to the characters and symbols, and adjust kerning respectively. However, there are hidden illusions implemented, so that together, the characters are harmonious and legible enough to read naturally as a body font in small sizes.

You can see this font used in some parts of this website, where there are glyphs and supergraphics!

Medio

Designing a creator-for-hire app

Services such as Fiverr and Upwork exist to connect creators and clients. However, not all clients are comfortable with fully-online transactions. That's how we got the idea of prototyping an app with the USP of combining features of Fiverr and delivery apps together, called: Medio.

I created the concept, user flow, layout and made prototypes using Figma and Adobe Illustrator.

Medio is currently under development.

Product design and 3D animated ad

I designed a concept for a fragrance spec product and modelled it in Blender 3D. I wanted the cap to have a unique feature, made out of black finished wood and in certain lighting conditions shape the number '7.'

I applied real-world cinematography into Blender, by shaping and animating the lights using mattes and flags as I would on a real film set. I tried to use different colours, but felt that a monochromatic palette was on-brand for this inclusive product.

URBAN STORY

Exploration of narrative vertical cinematography, visualising urban emotions, recorded on mobile phones.
